A bespoke hand bound coptic stitch journal made in the design and colours of your choice with optional personalisation.
Coptic binding is a beautiful exposed stitch that allows the book to be opened completely flat, making it perfect for writing and drawing.
These are made in the same way as our coptic stitch sketchbooks but with thinner paper and more pages. Plain or graph paper (or a mixture) are available.
The books are cut, folded, glued and sewn by hand.

The journals are available in the following sizes:
Small Square (10cm x 10cm / 4in x 4in)
A6 Portrait (10.5cm x 15cm / 4in x 6in)
Medium Square (15cm x 15cm / 6in x 6in)
A5 Portrait (15cm x 21cm / 6in x 8in)
PAGES:
100gsm all-media white cartridge paper (chlorine-free and acid-free - Certified FSC Mixed Source).
80 Pages / 160 Sides
COVER:
Hard cover, covered with a decorative paper or book cloth of your choice. Choose the decorative paper for the cover of your book from hundreds of designs or choose a book cloth colour:
Quote your paper number or book cloth colour in the specified box at the checkout.
Please read the description on the paper you choose to check stock levels. If you are ordering more than one book in the same design, please check with me first that I have enough of this design in stock. I have a plentiful supply of most book cloths.
STITCHING:
Beautiful exposed coptic stitching with waxed linen thread, in a colour of your choice.
Please state your colour at the checkout.
SPINE:
Strips of coloured handmade paper are used to cover the spines of the pages, state your spine colour at the checkout.
FOILED PERSONALISATION:
Free foiled personalisation on the cover or first page.
Capital letters (plus numbers & limited punctuation) available in font Optima in two sizes (22pt & 14pt). Choose your foil colour from the swatch photo.
One line of text included in the price, extra lines (up to 3) may be purchased here. Each line is a maximum of 7.5cm wide. Please contact me if you are unsure how many lines of text you need.

PAGE MARKER:
The journal comes with a linen thread page marker attached to the stitching on the spine. This is removable and will be in a colour to match your book.
PROCESSING TIME:
Bespoke sketchbooks can take 3-6 weeks to make. Please check the website status bar for current waiting times. If you need your book faster than this, you can pay a rush order fee to reduce your processing time. A rush order does not mean I will rush when making your item, it means you will jump the queue so your item will be made sooner.
The minimum rush order fee is 20% of the total cost of your item (a minimum of £5).
If you would like a rush order, please contact me with your deadline date before placing your order. Please note that at busy periods I may not be able to accommodate a rush order.
